Tinja's Workshop is a family-owned woodworking studio dedicated to creating functional art from hardwood. While we're best known for our handcrafted decorative cutting boards, we also build custom furniture and other fine wood products. Every piece is thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted to highlight the natural beauty, character, and timeless appeal of wood.

At Tinja's Workshop, we create handcrafted hardwood cutting boards that transform everyday function into art. Specializing in end grain boards with intricate geometric, 3D, and optical illusion designs, each board is built with precision and made to last for generations. We also craft custom furniture and fine wood products with the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship.
The Art of the Build
Panels are assembled glued, cut and recut to create the desired pattern. Depending on the pattern many different pieces may be required.
Step 1: Mill and Create Panels
Every project begins with premium hardwoods that are carefully selected for their color and grain. Each board is cut apart and reassembled to relieve wood tension, ensuring a more stable final product.
Step 2: Create the Pieces
The final blank is then flattened, sanded smooth and every edge is carefully shaped for both comfort and beauty. The board is then oiled and waxed for protection and to bring out the natural beauty in the wood.
Step 3: Assemble, Glue, and Flatten
The individual pieces are glued into panels according to pattern. The panels are then flattened and cut across strips strips which are rotated and re-glued to create the final board blank.
Step 4: Finish and Engrave

Tinja's Workshop is a family-owned woodworking business based in Salem, Oregon. What started as a hobby grew into a full-time family business built around our love of woodworking, creativity, and making functional art people can actually use.
